2. No affiliation with NADRA
CNIC Codes is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) or any department of the Government of Pakistan. References to NADRA are descriptive only. Names and marks belong to their respective owners.
3. The register is unofficial
NADRA has never published a complete district-to-prefix table. This register is compiled from public records, worked examples and community-maintained lists, and every entry is marked as either a documented anchor or a derived code.
The province digit is definitive. Beyond that, information here is offered as a good-faith reference and may be incomplete, out of date, or wrong. District boundaries change and this site may lag them.
4. Not proof of anything
Output from this site must not be relied on as evidence of:
- a person’s identity;
- domicile, residence or nationality;
- the validity or status of any identity card;
- any entitlement, quota or legal right.
Domicile is established by a certificate issued by the relevant district administration. Card validity and personal records are matters for NADRA alone.
5. Guides are general information
The guides describe how the CNIC numbering scheme and related documents generally work. They are not legal, financial or immigration advice, and requirements, fees and procedures set by NADRA change without notice.
Always confirm current requirements with NADRA before acting. We deliberately do not publish a fee table unless it has been verified against the official schedule, and the date of that check is printed alongside it.
6. No personal data lookup — ever
This site holds no identity records and provides no means of identifying any person from a CNIC number. Do not use it, or attempt to use it, for surveillance, profiling, or any purpose that would infringe another person’s privacy.
This project will never include SIM-information lookup, number tracking, or any person-lookup feature. Tools of that kind are illegal in Pakistan under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 (PECA), which criminalises unauthorised access to, copying of and transmission of personal data held in information systems. They also violate the privacy of people who never consented to being looked up. This is a standing commitment, not a current limitation.

7. Data sources and reuse
The register’s administrative data is derived in part from Wikipedia articles published under CC BY-SA 4.0, with changes made. Accordingly the register data — the province, division, district, tehsil and code compilation — is offered under the same licence: credit this site and Wikipedia, link the licence, indicate changes, and share alike.
The written guides, the visual design and the source code are separate works, are not covered by that grant, and remain the author’s. Full attribution is on the sources page.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- scrape, mirror or bulk-download the site in a way that degrades it for others;
- present the register’s content as official or as your own work;
- use the site to break any law of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan or of the country you are accessing it from;
- attempt to interfere with the site’s operation or security.
Reasonable quotation with attribution and a link back is welcome.
9. Advertising
The site may display third-party advertising to cover running costs. Advertisements are supplied by external networks; their presence is not an endorsement, and we do not control or vet the advertisers or the sites they link to. Dealings with an advertiser are between you and them.
10. External links
Links to external sites are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for their content, accuracy or availability.
11. No warranty
The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage — including wasted journeys, missed deadlines, refused applications or financial loss — arising from reliance on anything published here. If you need a decision you can rely on, get it from NADRA.
13. Changes
The site and these terms may change at any time. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
